Paul Alex Bennett - The Nature Painter

Painting passionately in acrylics and oils for the past 15 years has given me a better appreciation of the beauty of the world around us. I strive to share my enthusiasm with others through my paintings.

Primarily a plein air painter, on rainy days I do turn to my original photographs and sketches for studio paintings. My web site should give you a good idea of the influences I'm receptive to. I believe I'm moving toward competence in watermedia and hopefully reaching something like mastery of the medium.

I paint plein air with like-minded painters who encourage me greatly in my accomplishments.

I have a Bachelor or Fine Arts from the University of Victoria and continue my studies with the masters through the internet, museums and book learning.

Recent workshops with accomplished painters include Stephen Quiller, Robert Genn, Brian Atyeo and Brian Simons.
