Paul Alex Bennett

Painting passionately in acrylic, watermedia and oil for the past 15 years has widened my appreciation of the beauty of the world around us. I share my enthusiasm for Nature through my paintings.

Primarily a plein air painter, on rainy days I do turn to my original photographs and sketches for studio paintings. I'm reaching for mastery of watermedia. My web site should give you a good idea of the influences I'm receptive to.

I paint plein air with like-minded painters in Victoria, B.C. and Jasper, Alberta, who encourage me greatly in my accomplishments.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Victoria and continue my studies with the masters through the internet, museums and book learning.

Acclaimed painters I have recently workshopped with include Stephen Quiller, Robert Genn, Michael O'Toole, Brian Atyeo and Brian Simons. I'm particularly awed by Quiller's colour expertise.
